Bloomfield College Lady Deacons Defeat Dominican Lady Chargers, 3-0

Blauvelt, NY (9/14/06) The Bloomfield College Lady Deacons improved to 2-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) with a 3-0 victory over host Dominican College this evening at the Hennessy Center.

Blauvelt, NY (9/14/06) The Bloomfield College Lady Deacons improved to 2-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) with a 3-0 victory over host Dominican College this evening at the Hennessy Center.

Bloomfield edged out the Lady Chargers 32-20 in the first game, dominated the second game 30-10 and took the match victory with a 30-25 win in the third game.

The Lady Deacons were led by junior Ursula Pereira (Brazil) with 17 kills, while sophomore Celeste Lindsey (Cincinnati, OH) added 14 kills.  Sophomore setter Sonia Perez (Hackensack, NJ) had 38 assists in the win.

DC was led by sophomore Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) with 14 kills, while Antoinette Hackett (Pearl River, NY) added eight defensive digs.  Sophomore setter Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) had 20 assists in the loss.

With the win, Bloomfield improves to 2-3 overall and 2-0 in the CACC, while Dominican falls to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the CACC.

Dominican will be in action again on Saturday when they travel to Holy Family University for a tri-match against the Tigers and Southern Connecticut State University, beginning at 12pm.
