Lady Chargers Volleyball Lose Two At Holy Family Tri-Match
Philadelphia, Pa. Host Holy Family won both matches Saturday during its first home tri-match of the season. The Tigers (4-9 overall, 2-1CACC) defeated Dominican and Southern Connecticut by 3-0 scores. In the middle match of the day, Southern Connecticut defeated Dominican 3-0.

both matches Saturday during its first home tri-match of the
season. The Tigers (4-9 overall, 2-1CACC) defeated Dominican and
Southern Connecticut by 3-0 scores. In the middle match of the day,
Southern Connecticut defeated Dominican 3-0.
Holy Family 3, Dominican 0
In the opening match of the afternoon, Holy Family improved to 2-1
in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with the 3-0 win.
Game scores were 30-27, 30-24 and 30-26. Three players for Holy
Family registered double digits in kills, with Jen O'Connor
(So./Wilmington, DE/St.Elizabeth's) leading the way with 17 kills.
Kelly Nepi (Sr./Wilmington, DE/St. Elizabeth's) and Emily Culp
(Gr./Bensalem,PA/Nazareth Academy) each had ten. Kelly Cummins
(So./Philadelphia, PA/John W. Hallahan) had a match-high and
season-high 41 digs, while O'Connor had 21 digs. Shannon Whalen
(Fr./Philadelphia, PA/John W. Hallahan) had 20 assists, while
Michelle Copelli (Jr./Fort Washington, PA/Upper Dublin) had
17. For Dominican, Kinikia Collier
(Garnerville, NY) had nine kills, while
Jessica Zanottihad five. Antoniette Hackett
(Pearl River, NY) added in 32 digs,
while Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) had 17
assists.
Southern Connecticut 3, Dominican 0
The Owls took the match by a 3-0 score, with scores being 30-16,
30-22 and 30-26 Tara Bregensir led a balanced attack for the Owls,
netting ten kills. Kierstin Pry had eight kills, while Nekane
Mendizabal had six kills. Manjit Chase had 17 assists, while
Ashley Coombs had 12. Maria Arenas led the way with 13 digs, while
Pry had 12 for the Owls. Dominican got eight kills from
Collier, while Theresa Hanneman(Pearl
River, NY) had seven for the Chargers (0-8, 0-3
CACC). Kaitlin Earl had 16 assists, while Hackett
added in 21 digs in the loss.
