Blauvelt, NY (10/7/06) The Dominican College women's volleyball team defeated the Caldwell College Cougars, 3-0 (30-17, 30-17, 30-17) this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match held at the Hennessy Center.
The Lady Chargers were led by sophomore Kinikia
Collier (Garnerville, NY) who led all attackers with 16
kills. Fellow sophomore Theresa Hanneman (Pearl River,
NY) had a great game with 13 kills and two block
assists. Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) added
a game leading 28 assists, while freshman Kerriann Quinn
(Bellrose, NY) had 15 assists in game three. Junior
Antoinette Hackett (Pearl River, NY) had a game
leading 24 digs and two service aces in the win.
The Cougars were led by junior Phylicia Holmes (Roselle, NJ) with nine kills. Outside hitter Amy Ransom (Chattanoga, TN) added five kills. Sophomore Laura Ciesla (Chicago, IL) had 12 assists in the loss, while Laura DeVico (Hackensack, NJ) had 21 digs.
With the loss, Caldwell falls to 0-13 overall and 0-12 in the CACC, while Dominican improves to 4-16 overall and 4-8 in the CACC.
Dominican will be in action on Thursday October 12, when they host rival Nyack College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action scheduled for 7pm at the Hennessy Center
