DOMINICANVOLLEYBALL CRUISES PAST POST UNIVERSITY, 3-0

Eagles setter Obregon Amasses 2,000 career assists

Blauvelt, NY (10/18/07)     The Dominican College Lady Chargers cruised by visiting Post University Eagles, 3-0 (30-24, 30-26, 30-28) this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) volleyball action on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. 

Senior setter Desere Obregon (Bogota, NJ) amassed her 2,000th career assist in game two en route to finishing with a match leading 31 assists.  Outside hitter Kerry Smith (Lynbrook, NY) led all attackers with 18 kills, while Vicky Ducharme (Nashua, NH) and Telisha Moultrie (Bronx, NY) each had six kills in the loss. 

The Lady Chargers were led by junior outside hitter Theresa Hanneman (Pearl River, NY) with 15 kills.  Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) added eight kills and three blocks, while setter Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) had 28 assists in the win. 

With the win, the Lady Chargers improve to 5-11 overall and 5-8 in the CACC, while the Eagles fall to 7-15 overall and 7-5 in the CACC. 

Dominican is back in action on Saturday when they host Holy Family University.  Game time is 12pm at the Hennessy Center.
