HOLY FAMILY UNIVERSITY VOLLEYBALL UPENDS LADY CHARGERS 

Blauvelt, NY (10/20/07)     The visiting Holy Family University women's volleyball team upended the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 3-0 (36-34, 30-27, 30-26) this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) volleyball action on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

The first game was a seesaw battle as both teams had numerous changes as the Tigers posted the thrilling 36-34 victory.  Holy Family University picked up the pace during games two and three to pull out the 30-17 and 30-16 victories. 

The Tigers were led by Lauren Gosnell (Tipton, IN) who led all attackers with 17 kills.  Teammate Jennifer O'Connor (Wilmington, DE) added 14 kills in the win, while setter Aimee Drabyn (Avon, IN) had a match leading 34 assists.

Theresa Hanneman (Pearl River, NY) and Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) led the Lady Chargers with six kills a piece.  Freshman Akirrah Cooper (Bronx, NY) had five kills, while setter Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) had 14 assists in the loss. 

With the win, the Holy Family University improves to 13-18 overall and 11-2 in the CACC, while the Dominican fall to 5-12 overall and 5-9 in the CACC.

Dominican is back in action on Monday when they host Molloy College.  Game time is 7pm at the Hennessy Center.
