DEVILS COME BACK TO DEFEAT LADY CHARGERS VOLLEYBALL, 3-2

Blauvelt, NY (10/27/07)     The visiting Devils of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia came back from an 0-2 deficit to defeat host Dominican College Lady Chargers, 3-2 (31-29, 30-26, 27-30, 20-30, 11-15) this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women’s volleyball action on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. 

The Devils had four players in double figures in kills with Cady Rich (Shelton, CT) leading the way with 15 kills.  Senior Lindsey Wenderoth (Owings Mills, MD) had 14 kills and 12 digs, while Andrea Cardine (Temple, PA) added 13 kills in the win.  Christine Puschak (Leola, PA) contributed 10 kills and setter Claire Tauschek (Verona, WI) led the team with 23 assists.

The Lady Chargers were led by junior outside hitter Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) with 16 kills and 20 digs, while freshman Catherine Giordano (Stony Point, NY) had 11 kills and 12 digs.  Setter Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) had a match leading 34 assists in the loss. 

With the win, the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia improves to 13-13 overall and 9-6 in the CACC, while the Dominican fall to 5-15 overall and 5-11 in the CACC.

Dominican is back in action on Thursday when they host Caldwell College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match.  Game time is 7pm at the Hennessy Center.
