CALDWELL VOLLEYBALL RALLIES TO DEFEAT LADY CHARGERS
Blauvelt, NY (11/1/07) The visiting Cougars of Caldwell College rallied after losing game one to win the next three games in a 3-1 (23-30, 30-23, 30-28, 30-25) victory over the Dominican College Lady Chargers this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's volleyball action on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
Caldwell had four players in double figures in kills led by Cory Roesing (Secaucus, NJ) with a matching leading 17 kills. Justine Pecora (Clifton, NJ) added 15 kills and four blocks, while Keesha Francois (Elkins Park, PA) added 14 kills in the win. Junior Laura Ciesla (Chicago, IL) had 12 kills and three aces in the win.
The Lady Chargers were led by junior outside hitter Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) with 15 kills. Theresa Hanneman (Pearl River, NY) had 11 kills, while Akirrah Cooper (Bronx, NY) had three blocks. Setter Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) had a match leading 31 assists in the loss.
With the win, the Cougars improve to 3-24 overall and 3-13 in the CACC, while the Lady Chargers fall to 5-16 overall and 5-12 in the CACC.
Before the match began, the Lady Chargers honored seniors Erica Ciavolella (Yonkers, NY) and Antoinette Hackett (Pearl River, NY).
This match concluded the regular season for the Lady Chargers. The team will now wait to see if they earn a spot in the upcoming CACC Tournament.
