FELICIAN COLLEGE GOLDEN FALCONS TURN BACK LADY CHARGERS VOLLEYBALL
Orangeburg, NY (9/23/08) The visiting Golden Falcons of Felician College turned back the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 3-0 (28-26, 26-24, 25-22) this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's volleyball match held on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
Orangeburg, NY (9/23/08) The visiting Golden Falcons of Felician College turned back the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 3-0 (28-26, 26-24, 25-22) this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's volleyball match held on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
In the first set DC was one point away from the win leading, 24-17, when FC rallied with eight consecutive points to tie the set at 24-24. A service error by the Golden Falcons once again put the Lady Chargers a point from victory, but DC followed with their own service error to tie the set at 25-25. Once again tied at 26-26, Felician used back to back kills by Megan DeLamater (Paramus, NJ) and Cristina Garcia (Miami, FL) to take a 28-26 first set victory.
The second set saw DC rally from a 20-24 deficit with a 4-0 run, but an service error put the Golden Falcons a point from victory and DeLamater once again put the set away with a kill for a 26-24 FC set win.
With the third set tied at 12-12, Felician was able to put together a 6-3 run to take an 18-15 lead en route to the 25-22 set win and 3-0 match victory.
Garcia led Felician with nine kills, while DeLamater and Laura Peskosky (Clifton, NJ) each had seven kills in the win. DeLamater led the team with 17 assists.
Senior outside hitter Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) led all attackers with 12 kills, while sophomore Kerianne Dudley (Nanuet, NY) added nine kills. Setter Lauren Palermo (Ottisville, NY) had a match leading 29 assists in the loss.
With the win Felician improves to 2-11 overall and 2-0 in the CACC, while Dominican falls to 0-11 overall and 0-3 in the CACC.
Dominican is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Pace University in a non-conference match. Game time is set for 7pm.
