NEW HAVEN - Leah Shumoski, a senior from the University of Sciences in Philadelphia, has been selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Preseason Player of the Year in balloting released today. Shumoski, who hails from Broomall, PA, averaged 16.8 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.50 blocks per-game last season for the Devils. The leagues head coaches conducted the voting for the team.
Shumoski ranked third in the CACC in scoring last year and she also stood fourth in blocked shots, seventh in rebounding and first in steals (3.57). For her efforts she was named to the All-CACC first team at the conclusion of the season.
USP, Bloomfield, and NJIT each had two players voted to the team, while Holy Family, Post, Dominican and Philadelphia each have one player represented. The complete preseason All-CACC team is listed below.
