Dominican College women’s basketball team cruised past
visiting Post University, 85-55 this evening on Coach Baxter Court
in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women’s
action.
The Lady Chargers held a commanding
23-7 lead with 14:08 to go in the half, sparked by a 18-4 run as
junior Kristen Tracey (Bronx, NY) went 4-4 from
the three point line. She finished the half with 19
points, shooting 5-5 from down town.
Dominican continued to dominate the
game in the second half, shooting 42.9% from the floor for a game
total of 50.8%. Post shot 32.8% from the floor for the
game. Both teams were even on the boards,
37-37.
The Eagles were led by senior
Tadj Williams (Albany, NY) with 18 points and
eight rebounds. LaToya Coley (Brooklyn,
NY) had 14 points in the loss, shooting 4-8 from the floor
and 4-7 from three point land.
The Lady Chargers had three players in
double figures, led by Tracey with 22 points and
seven rebounds. Freshman Adele Laskowski
(Wayne, NJ) netted 20 points and four steals, while junior
Dana Rotio (Garfield, NJ) scored 11
points. Point guard Jackie
Tracey-Spitaleri (Bronx, NY) had a game leading 11 assists
and senior Beth DePalo (Rumson, NJ) added eight
points and four steals, respectively.
With the win, Dominican improves to
18-8 overall and 14-7 in the CACC, while Post University falls to
8-18 overall and 8-13 in the
CACC.
The Lady Chargers are back in action on Saturday when they host Philadelphia University in CACC women’s action. Game time is scheduled for 1pm on Senior Day at the Hennessy Center.
