CHAMBERS, LASKOWSKI NAMED TO ALL-CACC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM

Orangeburg, NY (3/4/09) Dominican College women's basketball players, Althea Chambers and Adele Laskowski have been named to the All-CACC Basketball Team as was announced today by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) office.

Chambers, a senior guard from Yonkers, NY, was named to the All-CACC First Team after receiving honorable mention honors in 2008.  She is currently ranked third in the CACC in scoring (17.7ppg) , 16th in rebounding (6.9), 11th in field goal percentage (.797) and eighth in steals (1.81).  She leads the Lady Chargers in scoring and rebounding and ranks second in assists and steals.  She received the CACC, PrestoSports/MBWA and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Week Accolades for the week ending February 15th.  Chambers has been a three-year team captain and recorded her 1,000th career point this season.

Laskowski, a junior forward from Wayne, NJ, was named to the All-CACC Second Team for the second straight season.  She is currently second on the team in scoring (14.8 ppg) , while leading the team in both assists (70) and steals (54).  She is ranked ninth in the CACC in scoring, seventh in steals and ninth in three-point field goals made (44).  Laskowski also netted her 1,000th career point and is a team captain this season.
