WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALL TO BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE
Bloomfield, NJ (2/4/10) The Dominican College women's basketball team fell to host, Bloomfield College, 66-42 this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.
Bloomfield opened the game with a 14-4 lead with 14:16 remaining in the first half and never looked back as they built up a 39-15 lead at the break. The Lady Chargers struggled from the floor shooting just 5-31 (16.6%) for the half.
The Deacons never trailed in the second half and led by as many as 27 points twice in the second stanza en route to the 66-42 victory. DC shot better in the second half going 9-26 (34.6%) to finish the game shooting 14-57 (24.6%).
Senior guard Rachelle Sainten (Spring Valley, NY) led the Lady Chargers with 15 points, while senior forward Adele Laskowski (Wayne, NJ) added six points and seven rebounds. Junior Shanice Scully (St. Albans, NY) had a team leading eight rebounds in the loss.
With the loss Dominican falls to 10-10 overall and 7-5 in the CACC.
The Lady Chargers are scheduled to be in action on Saturday against Wimington University in CACC action on Coach Baxter Court for the 9th Annual Sue Heller Memorial Game. Tip-off is slated for 1pm.
