LADY CHARGERS LOSES FIFTH STRAIGHT TO CHESTNUT HILL COLLEGE

Dominican used an and-one play from freshman Bianca Harris (Teaneck, NJ) with 13:44 remaining in the first stanza to take a 15-8 lead. Leading 24-15 with just under eight minutes to go, the Griffins went on a 13-0 tear to take a 28-24 lead. A trey from junior Kristen Haycook (Point Pleasant, NJ) with 1:41 left tied the contest at 28-28 and the score remained that way at the break.
CHC opened up the second half with a 9-3 run to take a 39-34 lead and extended their lead to as many as 17 points (60-43) with 7:11 to go. The Lady Chargers managed to cut the deficit to five points (62-57) with two and a half minutes left in regulation, but that would be as close as they would get as the Griffins went on to the 70-60 victory.
Freshman Shannon Lavelle (Floral Park, NY) led the Lady Chargers with 15 points, going 4-7 from the three point line. Senior guard Rachelle Sainten (Spring Valley, NY) added 14 points, while Adele Laskowski (Wayne, NJ) grabbed a team leading eight rebounds in the loss.
With the loss Dominican falls to 10-12 overall and 7-7 in the CACC, while CHC improves to 4-19 overall and 3-12 in the CACC.
Dominican is back in action on Tuesday when they host Wilmington University in CACC action. Game time is slated for 6pm on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
