Neither team led by more than five points in the first half as DC held a 21-16 lead with 8:29 to go before the break. The Lightning rallied with a 6-0 run to put them ahead 22-21, but Dominican outscored GBC 12-7 in the final 4:54 of the first stanza to give them a 34-30 lead at the intermission.
The Lady Chargers netted the second half's first basket to go up 37-30 but GBC fought back once again and tied the game at 42-42 with 12:24 remaining. Tied at 53-53 with 3:00 on the clock, DC charged ahead with a 7-0 run to take a 60-53 lead en route to the 64-57 victory.
Goldey-Beacom was led by freshman Devonne Richardson (Baltimore, MD) with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Irene Hudson (Syracuse, NY) came off the bench to net 13 points and eight rebounds. Jacinda Jones (Claymont, DE) added 11 points in the loss.
Senior guard Rachelle Sainten (Spring Valley, NY) led all scorer's with the team's only double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds. Fellow senior Adele Laskowski (Wayne, NJ) netted 10 points, seven boards and a team leading nine assists, while rookie Shannon Lavelle (Floral Park, NY) also tallied 10 points in the victory.
With the victory Dominican improves to 14-13 overall and 11-8 in the CACC, while Goldey-Beacom falls to 16-11 overall and 12-7 in the CACC.
Today was Dominican's final regular season game and will get ready for the CACC Playoffs which are slated to begin on Tuesday night.
