# 2 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALL TO # 1 HOLY FAMILY UNIVERSITY IN CACC SEMI-FINALS

Caldwell,  NJ (3/5/10)  The Dominican College women's basketball team, ranked second in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division fell to nationally ranked Holy Family University, the top seed from the CACC South DIvision, 75-42, this evening in the semi-finals of the CACC Tournament being held at the George R. Newman Center on the Campus of Caldwell College.

Holy Family University shot 42.6% (29-68) from the floor in the victory, while Dominican shot just 28.8% (15-52).  DC held the slim advantage from the three point line going 6-24 (25.0%) to the Tiger's 3-13 (23.1%)  Holy Family converted 14 of 16 attempts (87.5%) from the free throw line, to the Chargers six of six (100%).

Sophomore forward Marley Klunk (York, PA) led Dominican with nine points and 11 rebounds.  Senior guard Rachelle Sainten (Spring Valley, NY) netted eight points, while fellow senior Adele Laskowski (Wayne, NJ) scored seven points.  Freshman guard Shannon Lavelle (Floral Park, NY) led the team with five assists.

Freshman Erin Mann (West Chester, PA) led the Tigers as she came off the bench to net 16 points and 11 caroms.  Senior forward Christine McCollum (Abington, PA) added 14 points and eight rebounds in the victory.

With the loss Dominican ends the season with a 15-14 overall record.
