Dominican Tops Nyack 1-0 in OT

Nyack, NY (9/7/05)Dominican College defeated Nyack College 1-0 in overtime this afternoon in CACC women's soccer action. The game was tied at the end of regulation after the two teams battled back and forth for 90 minutes. Each team had a couple good chances to score but could not finish on the play. In the 97th minute Katrina Vanalstyne (Cairo, NY) took a header from Angela Correia (Elizabeth, NJ) and punched the ball past Nyack keeper Whitney Shutt (Point Pleasant, NJ) for the game-winning goal.

Nyack had 10 shots, 8 on goal while Dominican had 17 shots but only 7 on goal. Allison Commentino (Ellenville, NY) finished the game with 8 saves for the shutout. Nyack keeper Whitney Shutt finished with 6 saves.
