Dominican Ties With Caldwell, 1-1

Blauvelt, NY (10/19/05) The Dominican College women’s soccer team tied Caldwell College, 1-1 this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference soccer action.

The Cougars struck for the first goal of the game at 27:52 as Tory Marcus(Ocean City, NJ) scored off the double assist by Kristee Paknis (Whiting, NJ)and Victoria Aguilera (Merida, Venezuela).

Dominican tied the game as freshman Marie LaMaida (New Hyde Park, NY) scored in the last seconds of the first half off the double assist by Angela Correia (Elizabeth, NJ) and Pamela Mertens (Hicksville, NY).

The game would end in a 1-1 tie after two scoreless overtimes. Cougar keeper Jen Borden (Hamilton, NJ) had six saves, while Allison Comentino (Ellenville, NY) had three saves for the Lady Chargers.

Dominican out shot Caldwell, 10-8 and had the edge in corner kicks, 5-1.
