HOLY FAMILY EARNS TOP SEED AT 2005 CACC WOMEN'S SOCCER CHAMIONSHIPS
NEW HAVEN Behind a 10-0-1 regular season conference finish, Holy Family University has earned the top seed at the 2005 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) womens soccer tournament. The Tigers went 11-7-2 overall during the regular-season.
Caldwell College is the second seed after going 8-7-3 overall during the regular-season along with a 6-3-2 conference mark, while Goldey-Beacom (8-10, 6-5 CACC) is third. Dominican College (6-10-2, 5-4-2), the 2004 tournament champion, is the fourth seed and Wilmington College (8-8-1, 5-5-1), last years runner-up, is fifth. Post University (3-10-3, 3-6-2) secured the sixth and final spot in the tournament.
The first round will begin on Monday, October 31, when #6 Post visits #3 Goldey-Beacom and #5 Wilmington travels to #4 Dominican. Both games will begin at 2:00 pm. Holy Family and Caldwell received byes as a result of finishing in the top two spots in the regular-season standings.
The semifinals and finals will be held on Thursday and Saturday, November 3rd and 5th, at Tryon Field in Rutherford, NJ. Caldwell will play either Goldey-Beacom or Post in the first semifinal game at noon on Thursday, while Holy Family will face either Dominican or Wilmington at 2:00 p.m.
Saturdays championship game will commence at noon.
