Dominican Lady Chargers Defeat Nyack College Warriors, 2-1

Blauvelt, NY (10/12/06)          The Dominican College women's soccer team defeated the Nyack College Warriors in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) this afternoon at the DC Soccer Field.

Senior Kerrianne Rogers (Stony Point, NY) netted her first goal of the season at the 16:59 mark hitting the top left corner of the net to give Dominican a 1-0 lead.

The Warriors fought back to tie the game at 1-1 when senior Beth Fox (Long Valley, NJ) got a pass from Michelle Wolfson (Baldwinsville, NY) and drove it past the DC defense into the net at 78:15.

 Freshman Alexandra Nodine (Freehold, NJ) netted the game winning goal at 78:53 off the corner kick assist by sophomore Shannon Harding (Marlton, NJ). 

Lady Charger keeper Valentina Sturchio (Stewartsville, NJ) had two saves in the win, while Warrior keeper Whitney Shutt (Point Pleasant, NJ) had eight saves.  Dominican out shot Nyack 23-7 in the game.

With the win, Dominican improves to 4-9-2 overall and 3-4-1 in the CACC, while Nyack falls to 3-11-1 overall and 1-7-1 in the CACC.

The Lady Chargers are back in action on Saturday when the travel to Wilmingotn College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game scheduled for 12:00 pm.
