LADY CHARGERS SOCCER TIE HOLY FAMILY UNIVERSITY

Orangeburg, NY (9/28/08)  The visiting Tigers of Holy Family University and the Dominican College Lady Chargers soccer teams played to a 1-1 double overtime tie this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's soccer game held at the Turf Field on the campus of SUNY-Purchase.

After a scoreless first half, Dominican got on the bard at 46:14 when junior Rosa Centurion (Mamaroneck, NY) netted her first goal of the season off the pass from senior midfielder Shannon Harding (Marlton, NJ) who picked up her second assist of the season.

Holy Family University answered right back fifteen seconds later as freshman forward Dawn Curry (Pennsville, NJ) intercepted a ball being played by the DC defense and put it past the Lady Charger keeper to tie the game at 1-1.

Despite two overtime periods, neither team was able to net a goal for the victory.  The Tigers out shot the Lady Chargers 24-14.

With the tie Dominican  now stands at 3-4 -1 overall and 2-0-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play, while Holy Family University now stands at  5-5-2 overall and 2-0-2 in the CACC.

The Lady Chargers are back in action tomorrow evening when they take on non-conference opponent St. Thomas Aquinas College at 6:30 pm at the Herb Reisman Sports Complex.
