Waterbury, Conn. (10/1/25) The Dominican University New York men's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie with the #14 Eagles of Post University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on LaMoy Field.
With the tie the Chargers now stand at 1-5-3 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play.
Both teams had five shots a-piece in a relatively quiet first half with Post having a 2-1 edge in corner kicks.
The first 25 minutes of the second half remained quiet but things got interesting in the final ten minutes. Forward Oscar Chazalet would provide the first real chance of the afternoon for the Chargers when a loose ball led to a two-on-one opportunity between Chazalet and midfielder Lorien Davies Carerra. Carrera's pass to Chazalet would leave him all alone with the Eagle keeper who was able to stop the shot.
Each team would have chances in the final 10 minutes but couldn't get the ball into the net.
Post would hold a 17-8 advantage in shots and finished with a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Charger keeper David Arteaga made three saves in the tie.
Dominican returns to action on October 8th when they host Felician University at 12:30pm.
