LADY CHARGERS DOWN SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE FOR FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON
Hooksett, N.H. (2/28/26) The Dominican University New York women's lacrosse team earned their first win of the 2026 season with a 20-10 victory over the Penemn of Southern New Hampshire University this afternoon.
The Lady Chargers, #15 in the latest IWLCA Coaches Poll, improve to 1-1 overall early on in the season. SNHU falls to 0-2 on the season.
SNHU scored the first goal of the game followed by Madelyn Grella's first of the game to tie the score early at 1-1. The Penmen regained the lead but the Lady Chargers finished the first quarter with four straight goals, two by Madison Mileti and two by Camryn Grella.
Dominican outscored the Penmen 4-2 in the second quarter and took a 9-4 lead into halftime.
Dominican pulled away in third quarter outscoring SNHU 7-2 which included a five goal run to finish quarter.
Dominican extended their lead to 11 which was their largest of the game and secured the win.
Madelyn Grella finished with a team-high eight goals on 12 shots while adding two assists for 10 points. Alexa Preston scored four goals while adding four assists, one groundball and caused one turnover.
Camryn Grella scored three goals while picking up one groundball, one caused turnover, and two draw controls. Mileti scored twice and also added four assists. Dani Cox, Leila Paz, and Jenna Rigo each scored one goal. Rigo added a team-high two caused turnovers.
Payton LaVallee picked up two assists and a team-high six draw controls. CACC Goalkeeper of the Week Daniela Parisi made eight saves as she picks up her first win in net. Sofia Merten had 5:36 of action in net.
The Lady Chargers are back in action tomorrow afternoon when they visit Franklin Pierce University.
