DOMINICAN FALLS TO RAVENS IN 2OT
Keene, N.H. (3/1/26) The Dominican University New York women's lacrosse team fell to the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University in double overtime.
The Lady Chargers, #15 in the IWLCA and USA Lacrosse, fall to 1-2 overall early on this season while the Ravens improve to 1-2 overall.
Each team scored one goal in the opening quarter and then the Lady Chargers scored five goals in the second while only allowing one goal and took a 6-2 lead into halftime.
Dominican added two more goals in the third and entered the fourth quarter with an 8-3 lead.
In the fourth quarter, the Ravens offense caught fire as they scored the first three goals of the quarter followed by four unanswered goals later in the quarter to take a 10-9 lead.
A free position goal by Madelyn Grella tied the game at 10-10 with 1:48 left to play and sent the game to OT.
In the first overtime, the game remained tied and wtih 1:38 left to play in the second OT perior, Erin McIlroy scored the game winning goal on a free position shot.
Madison Mileti led the way for the Lady Chargers by scoring three goals and added one assist. Kate Frae and Madelyn Grella each scored twice while Alexa Preston, Dani Cox, and Rylie McGhan each scored one goal.
McGhan and Mileti each picked up one assist. Jenna Rigo and Emily Murtha each added two caused turnovers.
Daniela Parisi made 11 saves in goal but suffered the loss.
The Lady Chargers return to action this Wednesday when they visit Savannah College of Art & Design.
