LADY CHARGERS TOP RAMS IN CACC BATTLE
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/11/26) The nationally ranked Domincian University New York women's lacrosse team topped the Rams of Thomas Jefferson University in a CACC battle on O'Brien Field.
The Lady Chargers hand the Rams their first conference loss of the season and improve to 8-3 overall and 4-0 in conference play. Dominican jumps into first place in the CACC standings after the win.
The Rams fall to 9-4 overall and 4-1 in the CACC after the loss.
Daniela Parisi picked up her eighth win on the season in net for the Lady Chargers. Parisi made six saves while also picking up two groundballs.
TJU keeper Kalyn Ammerlaan made four saves but suffered the loss.
The Rams got on the board first just over a minute into the game after a goal by Meaghan Avanzato.
Dominican answered with five straight goals to cap off the first quarter and enter the second with a 5-1 lead.
Only three total goals were scored in the second quarter with Reagan Rogers netting both for TJU and Madelyn Grella adding her third on the day. The Lady Chargers took a 6-3 lead into halftime.
Dominican opened the third quarter with three straight goals to push their lead to 9-3. The Rams added two goals before the end of the quarter.
Dani Cox opened the fourth quarter with back to back goals and the Lady Chargers held an 11-5 lead with 10:41 left to play.
Jefferson made a late push scoring four unanswered goals and cut the deficit to 11-9 with 3:29 remaining.
The Lady Chargers held Jefferson at nine goals and completed the 11-9 victory.
Grella and Alexa Preston each scored three goals. Preston picked up one assist. Cox finished with two goals and one assist while Kate Frae and Madison Mileti each added one goal. Mileti dished out a team-high four assists.
Jenna Rigo picked up two groundballs and caused two turnovers.
The Lady Chargers return to action next Wednesday when they host Felician University.
