WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL WRAPS UP PLAY AT LHU Classic

Lock Haven, Pa. (9/8/12) The Dominican College Lady Chargers volleyball team defeated West Virginia Wesleyan College, 3-1, but lost their final match of the LHU Classic to Malone, 3-0 in games played this afternoon. Following the matches, the team now stands at 4-5 overall.

Lock Haven, Pa. (9/8/12)  The Dominican College Lady Chargers volleyball team defeated West Virginia Wesleyan College, 3-1, but lost their final match of the LHU Classic to Malone, 3-0 in games played this afternoon.  Following the matches, the team now stands at 4-5 overall.

Match One:  Dominican rallied after a first set loss of 20-25 by winning the next three straight by scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 25-17.

Senior Courtney Heard (Ventura, Calif.) led the team with nine kills.

Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, N.Y.) and Kristen Loney* (Pine Bush, N.Y.) each added eight kills in the win with Fiorvanti adding a team leading 15 digs.

Setter Whitney Ranger* (Ventura, Calif.) had the double-double of 37 assists and 10 digs, while libero Jordyn Fuller* (Keller, Texas) added 14 defensive digs.

Match Two:  Malone defeated the Lady Chargers in three straight sets by scores of 25-16, 25-21 and 25-14.

Dexter led the Lady Chargers with six kills.

Ranger finished with 18 assists, while Fuller recorded 12 defensive digs.

Dominican returns to the court on Tuesday evening as they host Caldwell College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match to be played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
