LADY CHARGERS VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS POST UNIVERSITY
Waterbury, Conn. (10/19/12) The Dominican College women's volleyball team extended their winning streak to 11 matches after defeating host Post University, 3-0, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match held at the Drubner Center. With the victory, Dominican improves to 17-7 overall and 13-0 in the CACC.

The Lady Chargers opened the first set with a 10-4 lead and led by as many as 12 points (22-10). Junior Randy Garrett (Rockledge, Fla.) ended the set with a kill for the 25-13 win.
The Eagles opened the second set with a 3-0 lead, but Dominican came back with five straight points to go ahead 5-3 and increased the lead to 18-11. Senior Courtney Heard (Ventura, Calif.) closed out the set with a kill for the 25-18 win and 2-0 match lead.
DC started out set three just like the first set as they opened up a 10-4 lead. At match point (24-19), CACC Rookie of the Week, Tori Dexter (Selah, Wash.) recorded the kill off the assist from Whitney Ranger* (Ventura, Calif.) for the 25-19 win and 3-0 match victory.
Dexter finished with the match's only double-double of 10 kills and 11 defensive digs.
Heard finished with nine kills, while libero Jordyn Fuller* (Keller, Texas) had a match leading 13 digs.
Ranger recorded a match leading 29 assists.
Dominican is back in action tomorrow as they host Goldey-Beacom College.
