WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DOWNS WILDCATS
Colchester, Vt. (9/13/25) The Dominican University New York women's volleyball squad defeated the Wildcats of Wilmington University, 3-0, this afternoon in non-conference action played in the Ross Sports Center on the campus of Saint Michael's College.
The Lady Chargers won in consecutive sets by the scores of 26-24, 27-25 and 25-12.
Dominican improves to 2-4 on the season, while the 'Cats fall to 0-5 overall.
The first saw DUNY trail 24-23 when Kaeden Sanstead recorded a kill to make the score 24-all. An attack error put the Lady Chargers at set point and senior Savannah Tody closed out the set with a kill for give Dominican the 1-0 advantage.
A service error in the second put the Lady Chargers at set point (26-25) and freshman outside hitter Trinity Parkin gave her team a 2-0 lead with a set ending kill for the 27-25 win.
The third set belonged to the Lady Chargers as they used a 12-2 run to jump ahead 22-11 as Haile Comeau served for eight straight points. Tody ended the match on back-to-back service aces for the 25-12 win and 3-0 match victory.
Tody and sophomore Alexandria De Iasi led the team with 11 kills each with De Iasi adding seven defensive digs.
Parkin finished with six kills, while Leila Ortiz added five kills.
Setter Sanstead dished a match best 28 assists and libero Kylie Flynn had a career high 23 digs in the win.
Dominican returns to action on Wednesday evening when they travel to St. Thomas Aquinas College.
