WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL TOPS LIONS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/25/25) The Dominican University New York women's volleyball team topped the visiting Lions of Georgian Court University, 3-1, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
With the win, the Lady Chargers improve to 6-12 overall and 3-6 in conference play.
Dominican won the first two sets by the narrow margins of 27-25 and 26-24 for the early 2-0 advantage. GCU rallied to take the third set 25-15, but DUNY was able to take home the win with a 26-24 set four victory and a 3-1 final.
Sophomore Alexandria De Iasi gave the Lady Chargers the win set one with a kill and put the team at match point in the fourth set with her sixth kill of the match. She also finished with five digs and three block assists.
Elizabeth Perez led Dominican with 11 kills and eight digs.
Senior Savannah Tody tallied 10 kills, four digs and four block assists, while setter Kaeden Sanstead recorded 33 assists and 13 digs.
Libero Haile Comeau had a team best 14 digs in the victory.
The Lady Chargers return to action next Saturday when they travel to Chestnut Hill College in CACC action.
