Blauvelt, NY (10/9/06)                       The St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans won the Dominican college Men's Cross Country Invitational held at Tallman State Park this afternoon.

St. Thomas Aquinas finished with a total score of 19 points.  The University of Bridgeport came in second place with a team score of 70 points, followed by Post University with a team total of 80 points.  Host Dominican College came in fourth place with a team total of 87 points, while Queens College did not have enough runners for a team score.

Elmer Eckert of St. Thomas Aquinas College won the individual title with a time of 30:07.  Fellow Spartans Brad NcNiff came in second with a time of 30:17, followed by Aidan Hearn with a time of 31:00 and Andrew Gangemi with a time of 31:03.  Anthony Hillard also of St. Thomas Aquinas rounded out the top five finishers.

Randy Dunkin was the top finisher for Dominican with a time of 36:19 for a twelfth place finish.
