#6 WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS TO #3 PHILADELPHIA UNIVERSITY
Philadelphia, Pa. (4/21/15) The #6 Dominican College women's lacrosse team the fell to the #3 Philadelphia University Rams, 20-11, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament Quarter-Final game played at Ravenhill Field.

Senior Gina Sparaco* (Freeport, N.Y.) gave the Lady Chargers a 1-0 lead with a goal less than thirty seconds into the game off the assist from fellow senior Allison Smithwick* (Commack, N.Y.). The Rams countered with four straight goals to claim a 4-1 lead with 26:02 to play in the first half. Smithwick broke the run with her first goal on a free position attempt and later made the score 5-3 with her second goal off the assist from Sparaco with 22:27 remaining in the first half.
Following another 4-0 Ram run, attacker Shayne Gallagher (Blauvelt, N.Y.) netted a goal on a free position attempt to cut the deficit to 9-4 Junior Christina Brennan (Washington Township, N.J.) scored the final goal of the half for Domnican off the assist from Smithwick and the game went into the break with a score of 12-5 in favor of Philadelphia.
In the second half, attacker Katie Dascher (Valley Stream, N.Y.) made the score 14-6 off the assist from Smithwick with 21:11. An unassisted goal from Amber June (Stony Point, N.Y.) brought the score to 16-7 with 12:20 to go and Smithwick later followed with back-to-back scores, one being on a free position shot with 9:51 to play and the other an unassisted goal twenty seconds later to make the score 17-9.
Smithwick scored her final collegiate goals with 6:38 left in regulation and Brennan netted the final goal of the game for the final 20-11 score.
Smithwick finished the game with five goals and three assists for a total of eight game points.
Brennan finished with two game goals.
Goalie Brittany Kiernan (Clarkstown, N.Y.) made nine saves in the loss.
With the loss, the Lady Chargers end their season with an overall record of 4-11.
Today was the final game for four member of the Lady Chargers: #3 Emily Murray (Oakdale, N.Y.) #6 Lauren Arnone (Neptune City, N.J.), #8 Sparaco and #15 Smithwick.
