LADY CHARGERS CONCLUDE CACC PLAY WITH UNDEFEATED RECORD
Waterbury, Conn. (4/23/25) The #20/#24 Dominican University New York women's lacrosse team wrapped up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play this afternoon with a 20-1 victory over the Eagles of Post University in a game played this afternoon at LaMoy Field.
The Lady Chargers extend their winning streak to 14 games this season and 21 straight CACC victories that date back to April 15, 2023.
With the win Dominican improves to 15-1 overall and 9-0 in CACC play.
The DUNY offense got going early as they scored all 10 goals in the first quarter to quickly take a commanding lead. They would score five more in the second frame to make the score 15-0 at the intermission.
Post scored the first goal of the third period and the Lady Chargers closed out the game on a 5-0 run for the 20-1 final.
CACC Player of the Week, Madelyn Grella, had a team leading five goals and a career high 10 assists for 15 game points.
Attacker Grace DeStasio added four goals and one assist for five points, while Madison Mileti recorded two goals and a career high six assists and Rylie McGhan netted two goals.
Caitlin Costello and Josie Lettieri scored two goals a-piece, while Jordana Tomasetti, Payton LaVallee and Sydney Strohmayer each had a goal in the win.
Costello recorded six draw controls, while DeStasio had five. Erin Carr picked up a game best eight ground balls and five caused turnovers with Jenna Rigo also causing five turnovers.
Lady Charger goalkeeper, Kristinamarie Kaszovitz, had two saves in 20:35, while Dynastee Ramos had one save in the final 11:16.
Dominican closes out the regular season on Sunday when they host Daemen University in a non-conference game to be played on O'Brien Field.
