WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFEAT POST UNIVERSITY

(9/25/12) The Dominican College women's volleyball team defeated Post University, 3-1, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the win, Dominican improves to 9-7 overall and 5-0 in conference play.

The Lady Chargers never trailed in the first set as they quickly took a 10-4 lead an cruised to a 25-16 win.
The Eagles answered back as they took a 6-2 lead in the second set and never looked back as they tied the match at 1-1 with a 25-19 win.
Like set one, Dominican never trailed in the third set and scored the final four points in the 25-15 win.
In the final fourth set, DC held a 20-12 advantage when Post came back with a strong 6-0 run to cut the deficit to 20-18. Leading 22-18, senior Courtney Heard (Ventura, Calif.) recorded two kills and an Eagle error led the Lady Chargers to the 25-19 win and 3-1 match victory.
Freshman Tori Dexter (Selah, Wash.) led all attackers with 13 kills and added 10 digs in the win.
Kayla Dexter (Selah, Wash.) tallied 10 kills for a match leading .333 attack percentage. Setter Whitney Ranger* (Ventura, Calif.) had a match leading 48 assists, while libero Jordyn Fuller* (Keller, Texas) had 27 defensive digs.
Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, N.Y.) added nine kills and 16 digs, while Randi Garrett (Rockledge, Fla.) also had nine kills.
Dominican is back in action at the Hennessy Center on Friday night as they host Felician College in a CACC match.
