LIGHTNING RALLY FOR 3-1 VICTORY OVER LADY CHARGERS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/11/25) The Dominican University New York women's volleyball team fell in conference action to the Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College this afternoon on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
The Lightning rallied to win three straight sets after Dominican took the opening set to secure the 3-1 victory.
Dominican took the opener 25-21 and then GBC answered with a 25-23 victory in the second set to tie the match 1-1.
GBC took a 2-1 advantage after a back and forth third set saw the Lightning pull away for the 25-21 win.
The Lightning completed the three set rally with a 25-22 victory in the fourth set.
Three separate Lady Chargers finished the match with 10 kills. Leila Ortiz, Savannah Tody, and Alexandria De Iasi each recorded 10 kills.
Tody led the way in points scored with 15 by also adding two solo blocks and three service aces. De Iasi finished with 12 points after also adding one service ace and one solo block. Ortiz picked up one solo block and one block assist.
Kaeden Sanstead recorded a match high 39 assists while also picking up three service aces and 13 digs. Haile Comeau recorded a team-high 19 digs.
Dominican returns to action next Wednesday night when they take on Caldwell University for a CACC north division contest on Coach Baxter Court at 7:00 PM.
